A consumer is someone who acquires goods or services for direct use or ownership rather than for resale or use in production and manufacturing.(West Encyclopedia of American Law).
Though implementation of the consumer laws and the work of protecting the rights of the consumer in Nigeria has not been extensive and leaves much to be desired, it is important for us to know they exist as it can help to curb the widespread cases of abuse.
